One (Secret) Goal of Mine

For the longest time, I have had this goal to read one book from every genre and sub genre there is. The problem is I have never made good on it. So today I decided it was finally time to make this goal public! Now you guys can help me!

Any and all recommendations are welcome! Please include the title, author and genre (or subgenre)!

The classic major genres of literature are:

  1. Fiction – The Odds of Loving Grover Cleveland by Rebekah Crane
  2. Comedy
  3. Drama
  4. Horror
  5. Non-fiction
  6. Realistic fiction – Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
  7. Romance novel
  8. Satire
  9. Tragedy
  10. Tragicomedy
  11. Fantasy – Non-Heir (The Black Mage #0.5) by Rachel E. Carter
  12. Mythology

Common genres:

  1. Classic
  2. Crime/detective
  3. Fable
  4. Fairy tale
  5. Fan fiction
  6. Fantasy – The Last Stand (The Black Mage #4) by Rachel E. Carter
  7. Fiction in verse
  8. Fiction narrative
  9. Folklore
  10. Historical fiction
  11. Horror
  12. Humor
  13. Legend
  14. Magical realism
  15. Meta fiction
  16. Mystery
  17. Mythology
  18. Mythopoeia
  19. Realistic fiction –
  20. Science fiction
  21. Suspense/thriller
  22. Tall tale
  23. Western

There are more in depth lists than this but I thought this was a good starting point!

No books I have read in the past will work for these genres! I am start with a blank list and hopefully by the end of the year all of the slots will be filled! Any doubles (such as fantasy and horror) will require two books, not just one! Once this is done, I will work on a longer list!

Once I have read a book, I will place a link to the books review next to the category it fills!

Wish me luck!!
