I heard so many good things about this book before I brought it. I actually probably wouldn’t have bought it if it hadn’t come so highly recommended. I prefer longer books and series’s but this book is only 169 pages, though there are two more books. All three books put together is one of my normal sized books. However, I am so thankful I read this book!

McGuire did an amazing job of taking a story that has been told so many times before and making it brand new. Everyone has heard the story of Alice in Wonderland or Wendy in Neverland or the Pevensie children in Narnia. I never stopped to consider wha happened once they returned to this world.

I loved every moment of this book. Nancy, the main character, was so unique. She is unlike any other character I have read about. While her background is not entirely new, her personality and her world are extremely intriguing. While I wanted so much more from this character and long to know more about her, I am hoping the next two books give me what I am looking for.

The diversity in this book was also really amazing. The main character and most of her friend all had a unique aspect to themselves that created a well rounded, interesting group to follow.

While I did guess what was going to happen and who was at fault for it, I still loved it.

Most importantly, I love the message to just be yourself and find that place where you don’t have to try and be something you are not. This book is an amazing example of why is it a good thing to be who you are meant to be.

I highly, HIGHLY, recommend this book to everyone! I think that everyone can learn something from this book, plus it is just an all around fun read. I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars and am really looking forward to the next one!
